Beaumont Capital Management Rebrands to Algorithmic Investment Models (AIM), Reflecting a 13-Year Track Record of AI-Driven Innovation
BOSTON, MA – February 19th, 2025 – Beaumont Capital Management (BCM), a Boston-based asset manager known for its opportunistic, global asset allocation strategies and machine learning-driven investment approach, announced today the launch of its rebrand to Algorithmic Investment Models (AIM). This move consolidates BCM’s operations under the AIM name, underscoring the core identity of the firm’s innovative approach to investment management.
Since its inception, BCM has provided financial advisors and institutional clients with strategies designed to smooth the ride for investors, seeking consistent returns with lower volatility. The firm’s flagship strategies, branded as “Decathlon,” have been powered by AIM’s proprietary AI-based technology and research since inception, previously through a joint venture. AIM officially acquired BCM in 2022, but the brands remained separate to ensure a seamless client experience during the transition.
“As we look to the future, the time is right to unify under a single, cohesive brand,” said Andrew Rice, Partner and Chief Operating Officer. “Our new identity, as AIM, better represents the core of who we are: a firm that combines human intelligence and machine learning to create powerful investment strategies designed to uncover opportunities others miss.”
A History of Innovation
AIM was originally founded by Todd Rice and Gordon Bennett as a research firm in 2012 and was among the early adopters of machine learning in asset management. They began developing the foundational technology that powers AIM’s strategies in the late 1990s, earning two patents related to machine learning.
Since launching in 2012, the Decathlon strategies have established a 13-year live track record of using AI to navigate complex financial markets and manage risk. This track record is supported by a core team of portfolio managers and leaders who have been integral to the firm’s journey for over a decade.
“We are doubling down on our commitment to innovation and product development, leveraging our proprietary technology and multidisciplinary team to help uncover hidden profit opportunities in the markets.” said Brendan Ryan, Partner and Portfolio Manager. “At the same time, we want to reassure our clients that while our name is changing, the strategies they’ve trusted for over 13 years, and the experienced team behind them, remain the same.”
Why Rebrand and Why Now?
As BCM and AIM became fully integrated, and product development and innovation remained a focus, it became clear that the legacy brand no longer aligned with the firm’s forward-looking identity.
“The name Algorithmic Investment Models aligns with our core offering and the technology that really differentiates us,” said Andrew Rice. “A decade ago, we found that many advisors weren’t well versed in AI or machine learning concepts, so we didn’t emphasize it in conversations. But the landscape has evolved significantly since Decathlon’s launch in 2012. Our client base has grown much more knowledgeable as the industry, and the world really, has embraced AI. The AIM brand embraces that evolution as well and allows us to communicate more clearly how our technology can help remove emotion from investing and enhance client outcomes.”
While AIM’s rebrand officially launches on February 18th, its first in-person debut will take place at AssetMark’s Gold Forum in Phoenix at the end of February, marking the firm’s first major event under its new identity.
The firm’s website, email domains, and materials will fully adopt the AIM branding upon launch. The Decathlon investment strategy names, which include the Global Asset Allocation and Market Neutral models, will also reflect the change, with “Beaumont Decathlon”/”BCM Decathlon” rebranded as “AIM Decathlon,” maintaining the risk profiles clients are familiar with.
Looking ahead, AIM is excited to continue expanding our product suite and exploring new partnerships to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
